Governance

In September of 1988, at the request of a group of interested local residents, Dr. Bill initiated the Pacific Coast Church, and continues as its Minister and spiritual guide. PCC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Our day-to-day operations are managed by David Hayward. The Board of Stewards (BOS) provides oversight and management of the church.

Key BOS activities include:

  • Strategic planning of key initiatives for PCC growth and on-going prosperity
  • Budget oversight
  • Capital and expense allocations
  • Salary and benefits administration
  • Alignment and enlisting of resources to focus on Sunday services, the target initiatives
and ancillary activities of the PCC community
  • Monthly BOS meetings or as needed to manage the church affairs.

PCC Board Members and their areas of responsibility are:

Dr. Bill Little – President
In 1969, Dr. Bill received his PhD in physics from Georgia Tech and was teaching at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey where he first heard about Religious Science. He returned to New York to continue his Ministerial studies and before long he came back as the Minister at the Monterey Church where he remained until 1987. In 1989, at the request of many friends and supporters, he began Pacific Coast Church. Dr. Bill was awarded a Doctorate in Religious Science in 1986. Also, just for fun, he teaches mathematics at Monterey Peninsula College. 831-372-1942, Ext. #2
Sharon Parsons – Vice-President
Famous at PCC for Prosperity Dinners and generous elegant entertaining, dinner at Sharon’s lovely Chualar home has been the single most highly bid upon item at every PCC auction in recent years. Sharon has done many interesting things throughout her career, including teaching and spending many years as a color consultant, which has proved very beneficial to PCC as we renovate and upgrade our new church home. Much of her time now is focused on her role as a Member of the Monterey County Planning Commission. 831-679-2511
Kim Yalda – Secretary
Kim was a public school teacher and administrator for 16 years and holds a master’s degree in educational technology. Once she discovered the Monterey Peninsula, she knew she had to move here. She now teaches methodology classes in the teacher credential program at Chapman University and works as a consultant for several educational organizations. Kim also has a blooming holistic practice as an Aromatherapist and Reiki Master and is working towards completion of an Ayurvedic Practitioner course. Being a life-long student of metaphysics, she is committed to her own spiritual journey through Science of Mind principles and being of service to others. 831-375-1467
Rev. Cathy Cole – Treasurer
Cathy holds AS and BS degrees in Fashion Design and an MBA from New York University. She worked for the Rockefeller Family Office for 11 years before falling in love with PG and moving out to California to be with the Sea Otters. After three years managing Friends of the Sea Otter’s Retail/Educational outlet, she launched her own bookkeeping business. Cathy is a Practitioner-in-Training and a Minister-in-Training, the Manager of The Mindshop, a co-facilitator of our Name Your Year Workshop and the facilitator of our popular Julia Cameron classes: The Artist’s Way, The Vein of Gold and Walking in This World. 831-643-1153
Barbara Allen – Steward
Barbara spent her professional career in the hospitality industry working for most of the major chains including the Biltmore in Los Angeles before moving to Monterey to open her own Victorian bed and breakfast called The Jabberwock. Barbara’s skills as a hostess are unparalleled and she keeps The Board fed and watered with sumptuous meals that she seemingly produces out of a hat. Not long after selling The Jabberwock, Barbara found retirement too boring and, given her love of animals, now works very happily with Monterey County Animal Services in Salinas. 831-333-0377
Estelle Cimino – Steward
Estelle has been volunteering at PCC for several years. Since we moved into our new building her expertise has been key to the success of the The Mindshop, where she is now responsible for all our book buying. Professionally, Estelle is a career counselor both here on the Peninsula with her own Career Action Center and with several large companies in Silicon Valley. She also volunteers at Hospice House as a grief counselor and SCORE as an entrepreneur counselor. Her recent class, co-taught with Susan Scott, Manifesting Whatever You Want To Be, Do, Or Have was attended by 85 people and is the largest class ever held at PCC. 831-372-1828

Rev. David Hayward – Steward
David spent several years in his father’s construction company after leaving school. He has been a professional actor and spent over thirteen years in the hospitality industry. He thought he was coming to PG to start life anew as a writer but it turned out he came to find PCC where he has been the administrator since 1998. David is a licensed Practitioner and is on the ministerial track with Dr. Bill. 831-372-1942, Ext. #1
Tomi Nemes – Steward
Tomi Nemes Lives in Pebble Beach with his wife, Judy, and dog, Lovey. He spent many years in the Los Angeles area building a successful career in the textile industry before retiring to the Peninsula and becoming an entrepreneur. He serves as an advisor to SCORE, as well as a volunteer for Hospice House. He’s crazy about PCC, Ice Hockey and his wife, Judy. 831-626-2634
