Volunteers
Volunteering has always been an essential part of Pacific Coast Church as it surely must be with any organization teaching spiritual principles. Giving one’s time in selfless service, or seva as it is referred to in the Eastern Religions, is an enriching and enlightening experience. When we weave our way into the fabric of a spiritual organization in this way, we’re sure to feel more connected and more deeply involved. Audio
Dennis Murphy has designed and installed our sound system of which we’re very proud. He is ably assisted by Bari Roberts, but we still need more volunteers for Sunday Morning Services and special events like Weddings and Memorial Services. Training is provided for setting up the system and monitoring the quality of sound while recording tapes or CDs. 831-372-1942

Fundraisers
We rely on annual fundraisers to meet our operating expenses. For the last few years, these have primarily been: Jazz From The Heart, The Human Race and The Harvest Celebration of Life’s Abundance. We appreciate volunteers for ticket selling, set-up, tear down, etc. To volunteer or donate to any of these events, please contact the church office at 831-372-1942.

Gardening
We have a large Oak tree on the front of the building and a beautiful Magnolia tree in the back garden so keeping up with falling leaves is almost a full time job in itself. We also have plans to improve the landscaping on all sides of the building. There are many jobs from sweeping and tidying up to planting and pruning, and we appreciate all the help we can get. Hospitality
Greeting everyone on Sunday morning is an important role. A warm and friendly welcome can make a person’s day. In addition to greeting, we also need volunteers to be available after service to answer questions and make sure that first time visitors get questions answered and feel welcome. Inreach
Inreach supports our members in time of need by connecting them with information, resources and by providing spiritual support. If you’d like to be participate in Inreach by offering practical help, please contact the office at 831-372-1942.

Junior Church
Janie Lundy and Brooke Cole are our Junior Church teachers. As we expand we will offer programs for three age groups: infant through 4 year olds, 5 to 11 year olds, and a Teen Group. If teaching on a Sunday morning for any of these age groups appeals to you or if you would like to get involved in any way with the Junior Church, please call the office 831-372-1942. Please understand that screening is required for these positions.

Maintenance
Brian George has spearheaded the maintenance team since we moved into the building and has spent hundreds of hours in, under and on the building. Volunteers are needed for all aspects of building maintenance. We also have an extensive remodel planned for 2006. To volunteer, please contact Brian George at 831-646-0593

Refreshments
We all enjoy the wonderful refreshments as we socialize together after Service. It’s a special time of community, making new friends and reconnecting with old ones. If you would like to participate by bringing a tasty snack once or twice a month, please contact Barbara Allen at 831-333-0377 or Sharon Parsons at 831-679-2511.

Music
Bob Phillips is our Musical Director. He has produced Jazz From The Heart, a major musical event on the Peninsula, for over ten years. This year alone Bob Phillips has also produced six superb concerts at PCC and arranges a wonderful assortment of music for all Sunday Services. Office
Please contact David at the office if you are available to help with any of our mailings. We mail Pathwords magazine bi-monthly to about 700 people. It usually involves about two hours work labeling and sorting mail. 831-372-1942

Outreach
The Outreach Committee is at its busiest around Thanksgiving and Christmas. For several years now we have been supporting Genesis House and two Group Homes for children in Salinas by providing Thanksgiving dinners and Christmas gifts. Interested volunteers may contact Coleen Gsell at

Mindshop (Our Metaphysical Bookstore)
The Mindshop has been an outstanding success since we opened the doors in April of 2004. Cathy Cole and Estelle Cimino did a stellar job of creating a wonderful setting filled with a dazzling array of books and gifts. We do rely on volunteer staff and would love your help with display, phones, serving customers and all the usual retail tasks. If you are interested in helping, please call Marie at 831-372-2971.
